It attracts APPs seeking a structured educational program to support and guide their development of proficient clinical decision making and their application of specialized skills in the care of the mentally ill patients through in-person didactics and mentored clinical experiences.Provides specialty health care services within defined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed psychiatrist and in accordance with MCW/FMLH policies and procedures.The Fellowship is an academic clinical partnership between the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and other affiliates. It is an immersive, longitudinal transition to practice 12-month residency in mental health focusing on underserved populations in community-based settings. Trainees will gain interdisciplinary team-based experiences across the life span. It will consist of core clinical rotations in a variety of ambulatory settings and an inpatient setting, elective rotations in specialized ambulatory settings, and didactic experiencesAnticipated Workweek : Position requires flexibility with respect to clinical rotations spanning inpatient and outpatient settings.Structure and Supervisory RelationshipsFellowship Psychiatric Program Director: Judy Evenson, PMHNP-BCFellowship Psychiatric Associate Program Director: Jason Ipsarides, DNP, PMHNP-BC & Anna Melville, DNP, PMHNP-BCFellowship Education Coordinator: Jean WitteFellowship Physician Champion: Himanshu Agrawal, MBBS, MDMCW Fellowship Program Manager: Sarah Vanderlinden, MPAS, PA-C, DFAAPAFellowship Expectation and Learning Outcomes:Advanced Assessment: Elicits, selects, and integrates information in the care of patients with acute, critical, and/or complex chronic illnesses using physiologic technologic and pharmacologic inputs.Differential Diagnosis: Makes and prioritizes real and potential conditions based on available data and the complexity and severity of patient condition.Outcomes Identification: Formulates goals and outcomes using scientific evidence that are consistent with the patient's wishes and present and potential capabilities.Plan of Care: Develops, prescribes, and/or modifies an outcomes-focused plan of care with an interprofessional team targeting health care that may be restorative, curative, rehabilitative, maintenance and or end-of-life for patients with complex needs.Implementation of Treatment: Identifies, prescribes, performs, or delegates therapeutic interventions.Evaluation of Care: Demonstrates ongoing evaluation of plan of care, recognizing patient response to therapy and change in condition, making modifications and assimilation of care team recommendations.
