Job Summary Under general direction, this role administers and supports a mixed environment of directory services consisting of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition, and Okta Universal Directory. Responsible for architecting and implementing solutions that enhance directory services in support of business priorities. Contributes to decisions on project and infrastructure needs, including the evaluation of server technologies, languages, platforms, and frameworks. Actively participates in regional and national Identity and Access Management (IAM) communities and organizations as appropriate. Works with users, business analysts and technical staff to resolve problems and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Addresses problems related to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Diagnoses and repairs system failures. Provides on-call support for problem resolution. Takes an active role in developing departmental policies and procedures, as they relate to the use of Directory Services. Responsibilities Leads architectural discussion and implementation of directory services. Provides tier two ticket support for all IAM services. Provides tier one and tier two ticket support for the Directory. Creates documentation (knowledge base articles) for IAM services. Creates short instructional videos for IAM services. Trains and mentors student Support Analysts. Designs and architects a global Active Directory Infrastructure, including, design and implementation of Group Policy, domain consolidation for large scale organizations. Plans and executes Active Directory Domain level upgrades. Plans and designs Group Policy Objects as requested to ensure compliance of company policies for servers and user end-point devices. Works with stakeholders and other technical teams to collect business and technical requirements and design / deliver enterprise level solutions. Creates and updates technical documentation of operating procedures as needed. Supports Departmental goals and objectives including measures and projects. Provides problem solving leadership based on experience with the technology. Reviews domain level rights and privileges and performs changes to the same as appropriate. Follows and applies configuration and security standards and policies within a defined change management process. Establishes/recommends policies on system use and services. Strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units. Helps to keep recurring projects, such as the Directory Reviewer Refresh, on track and current. Works with the University divisions and departments to gather requirements for projects and updates to current services. Develops requirements and feedback into documentation that can be used to further IAM development of new services or refinement of current services. Configures, installs, upgrades, and maintains server applications and ardware. Works to safeguard the integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements to improve the reliability and performance of the system. Administers operating systems, maintains security, and implements backup procedures for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, such as servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology. Experience: Background mentoring junior resources.
