Job Summary

Under the direction of an administrator, assist a teacher for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to provide academic support. Assist individual or small groups of students, in a general and/or special education classroom or other learning environments.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.Effective 10/1/24: If you have an AA, Bachelors, or Masters Degree you must also attach your High School Diploma. You may not submit a college degree in lieu of your High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated successful training or coursework in manual communication, instructional technology, and subject matter areas applicable to the education of the deaf and hard of hearing.

Paraeducator Exam: Applicants will be notified via email of testing date, time and location.No test will be required if a person has 48 semester units, or has an AA Degree or higher. If you posses either of these requirements, you must attach official copies of your transcript to your applications. If you are attaching an AA, Bachelors, or Masters Degree you must also attach your High School Diploma.
