POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible for building and managing a world-class marketing organization for a global life sciences tools company. This position will lead both centralized and field marketing functions to drive global marketing initiatives and align them with the company's strategic goals. The VP of Marketing will be a key member of the commercial team and play a crucial role in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and enhancing brand reputation through innovative, data-driven marketing strategies. Hiring and developing top talent for key functions within the marketing team is a high priority.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or a related field is required.

An MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.

Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles within life sciences, healthcare, or biotech sectors, with a strong global focus.

Seven years of management experience.

Demonstrated experience in driving significant business growth through innovative marketing strategies.

Experience with brand development, product marketing, content creation, demand generation, and customer engagement programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proven track record of building and managing large, complex marketing organizations across multiple regions and functions.

Deep knowledge of the life sciences tools industry, customer segments, and competitive landscape.

Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, product development, and executive leadership.

Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into impactful marketing initiatives.

Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance management.

Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, marketing automation platforms, CRM tools, and analytics systems.

Superior leadership skills with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of staff management practices and processes and the ability to establish accountabilities and expectations and manage performance to achieve results.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Results-oriented with a focus on driving performance and accountability.

A professional presence and strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact in a courteous, timely and diplomatic manner with all levels of staff, as well as other parties/stakeholders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is performed in a standard office environment, remote or hybrid model.

COMPENSATION SUMMARY:

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $269,900 to $431,900. This salary range represents a general guideline as MSD considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. These annual bonuses are intended to recognize individual performance and enable employees to benefit from the Company's overall success.
