ResMed is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, External Communications to develop and execute comprehensive communications, public relations, and media strategies that align with ResMed’s strategic business objectives in the U.S. market. This fast-paced role is pivotal in driving ResMed’s day-to-day communications and public relations efforts, targeting both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B-C) audiences.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication Planning: Maintain an in-depth understanding of ResMed’s global business and media U.S. media landscape to develop effective communications strategies, identify timely media opportunities, and promote thought leaders
Content Development: Draft news releases, messaging and media materials for both proactive and reactive media relations.
Media Relations: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key U.S. media outlets, including pitching and ongoing engagement.
Agency Management: Oversee and lead the PR agency for the U.S. market, managing all agency calls, budget and activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams in medical affairs, technology, marketing, strategy, branding and product development to identify story opportunities, build ResMed’s speakers bureau and explore award submission opportunities.
Campaign Leadership: Lead communications efforts for product launches, brand campaigns, partnerships and other key initiatives.
Digital and Social Media. Work closely with the social and digital team to amplify key campaigns and brand moments.
Spokesperson Role: Act as a spokesperson for the company when appropriate, representing the company with U.S. media engagements.
Media Training And Spokesperson Prep: Provide media training and preparation for spokespeople to ensure effective communication in media interviews. Staff interviews as appropriate.
Media Monitoring: Lead media monitoring efforts to ensure timely news updaes are shared with key internal stakeholders.
Approval Process: Oversee the approval process for press releases, talking points, presentations, and other communications materials, ensuring alignment with clinical, legal, regulatory, investor relations, and compliance requirements.
Performance Metrics: Define, track and analyze metrics to measure the performance of communication strategies. Report results, including ROI, lessons and key takeaways to inform future strategy.
Community and KOL Engagement: Continually explore ways to expand ResMed’s provider/KOL partner community to strengthen the company’s reputation and amplify storytelling efforts.
Required Skills
5-10 years of relevant experience in public relations, social media, media relations, and corporate communications, preferably in healthcare, medical devices, or related global organization.
Exceptional writing skills with experience crafting news releases, messaging, blogs and other communications materials.
Strong experience working with U.S. media, with a proven track record in media outreach and relationship management.
Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines while ensuring projects are performed with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Strong experience collaborating across large, complex organizations to achieve communication goals and identify storytelling opportunities.
A four-year degree or higher in communications, PR, marketing, journalism, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in related area and/or Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).
Experience in communications with a global company.
A strong balance of experience in both consumer and B-B communications.

on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $150,000 - $227,000
