Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.Good communication skills & knowledge of basic shop mathAble to read, write and understand basic instructions in EnglishAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAble to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularlyAble to learn how to use measurement instrumentsAbility to follow directionAbility to complete first piece verificationMaintain a good attitude and be willing to learnCommunicates effectively with other team members and Production Team LeaderBe familiar with Human Performance tasksAble to perform entry level set-upsUnderstand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating (where applicable)Knowledge of all measuring instruments and gages for their operationAble to speak effectively before groups of co-workers, customers, auditors, etc.Able to read and interpret blueprintsWorking knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principlesAble to comply to all SPC daily Requirements (if applicable)Able to understand and maintain machine complements (when applicable)LOTO certifiedAble to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of Machining Tech I-IIIAble to cross train in other areas as requiredAble to understand and meet department goals & metricsParticipate in ABS Kaizen events as requiredAble to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of Machining Tech I-IVHave the ability to support other Howmet facilitiesAble to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skillsIndependently sets up, operates, and troubleshoots machinery for self/othersAble to operate all standard machines related to the process in their assigned processAble to run saws independentlyAble to make own tooling related to headingAble to run the 80 and 100 ton independentlyProficiently run the cut-off machinesAble to run and set-up hot and single die headers independentlyAble to run and set-up independently 56 National Multi-die headersAble to be cross-trained to run and set-up on the 89 National Multi-die headersCompetencies
