Period of Work: May-August 2025 Full-Time: 40 hours a week Locations: Bedford MA and McLean, VA In Office Requirement: 5 days a week onsite Clearance Requirement: Will be submitted for DHS Suitability The Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) at MITRE supports the Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute (HSSEDI) FFRDC and the NIST National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) by providing independent and objective expertise to enhance mission capabilities. CSH collaborates with federal agencies like DHS and NIST to deliver innovative solutions and develop frameworks that strengthen national security and cybersecurity infrastructure. Data-driven, intelligent systems can bring immense computing power to bear, revealing insights across datasets too massive for humans to synthesize. We help our customers build and enable those systems by creating trusted architectures, machine learning algorithms, and analytic techniques that put the power of big data at our users' fingertips while leverage deep expertise in human decision-making and collaboration to best pair humans and machines. Basic Qualifications: Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Math, Statistics or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship Development experience in Pytorch of Tensor Flow Experience with NLP, Computer Vision, or Deep Learning Simulation and computational analytics Systems modeling and analysis Preferred Qualifications: Experience having applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to an internship or research/lab position Applied mathematics, statistics, and optimization Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python (scikit-learn, NumPy, pandas, Jupyter), ?
