Travel Nurse RN - ICU/Critical Care in Montgomery, AL

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Job Specialty: General Cardiac Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: At least 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted with specified experience License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cerner or EPIC experience Job Description: - Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. - Manage and monitor patients with conditions such as STEMI, post heart catheterization with interventions, respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest, post-stroke, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and other critical care needs. - Demonstrate proficiency in vent management, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, and the use of arterial lines, IABP, Impella, EKOS, CRRT (PrismaFlex), chest tubes, Swan Ganz catheters, FloTrac monitoring, titratable drip management, and hypothermia protocols. - Ensure collaboration with a dedicated team, including charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists. - Ability to float to any like unit or patient location if needed. - Participate in a scheduling cycle with expectations of working every other weekend and one major and one minor holiday per policy. - Engage in a 48-hour orientation program for new or returning travelers as applicable. - Wear approved scrub colors during shifts. Other Notes: - Ensure patient ratio is maintained at 1:2. - Utilize EMR system for patient management and documentation. - Holistically manage patient care, ensuring safety and best outcomes in a critical care setting.
