POSITION SUMMARY:

Avocet Hospitality is seeking a visionary leader and strategic thinker to join its team as the Vice President of Marketing. In this critical and exciting role, the VP of Marketing will oversee the marketing efforts for Avocet Hospitality and its portfolio, currently including four hotels and eleven food and beverage outlets, driving brand growth, market share, and overall business success.

This position requires a blend of creative thinking and strategic execution, working closely with executive management teams to facilitate the growth of Avocet Hospitality and its portfolio of assets. The VP of Marketing will lead the creation and management of comprehensive marketing plans and budgets to achieve sustainable, profitable growth while acting as both architect and steward of all brands within the portfolio.

As a customer champion, the VP will leverage data insights and analytics to deliver superior, personalized customer experiences and measurable business results. Additionally, this role will develop robust marketing capabilities—such as technology fluency, digital expertise, and analytics—to ensure the portfolio of hotels and restaurants remains competitive now and in the future. Furthermore, the VP of Marketing will serve as an innovation catalyst, experimenting with new technology platforms, alternative media, and innovative tools and techniques to evolve and position the company and its assets for long-term success.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing Strategy Development :

Create and execute comprehensive and innovative marketing strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and long-term growth.

Drive market analysis, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform decision-making and identify new opportunities.

Lead brand development initiatives to ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.

Team Leadership & Development :

Mentor and develop a high-performing marketing team and manage third-party agencies, including digital marketing, product marketing, brand management, and communications.

Foster a culture of teamwork, creativity, innovation, and accountability within the marketing department.

Ensure effective collaboration between marketing and other departments, such as sales, product, and operations.

Brand Management

Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

Manage brand positioning, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and differentiates the company from competitors.

Market Research & Analysis

Conduct market research to identify opportunities, customer needs, and emerging trends.

Analyze marketing data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, making data-driven adjustments as needed.

Digital Marketing & Advertising

Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and online advertising.

Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors to execute marketing campaigns effectively.

Customer Experience & Engagement :

Drive customer engagement strategies to enhance customer experience, foster brand loyalty, and increase customer lifetime value.

Lead the development of customer feedback loops and integration of insights into marketing initiatives.

Budget Management

Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

Monitor expenditures and adjust strategies to stay within budget while achieving marketing objectives.

Sales Collaboration

Work closely with the sales team to align marketing initiatives with sales goals and support lead generation efforts.

Develop tools and materials that assist the sales team in closing deals and retaining customers.

Public Relations & Communications

Oversee public relations activities, including press releases, media relations, and corporate communications.

Manage crisis communication strategies to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

Perform other duties as assigned by SVP or President of Avocet Hospitality Group

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience preferred

Experience:

10+ years' experience in marketing and/or advertising. Experience in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred.

5+ years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role

Skills:

Lead with innovation and creativity

Ability to develop long-term strategies that align with company goals

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team

Very strong written and verbal communication skills

Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals

Ability to oversee multiple projects and ensure timely execution

Expertise in building and maintaining a strong brand identity

Ability to analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape

Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform marketing strategies and assess performance

Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately

Must have the ability to understand and analyze complex information and data from various sources
