SNC is on the lookout for a seasoned Software Systems Lead with a specialization in IR sensor systems to spearhead the design, integration, and validation of a cutting-edge sensor mission system on an airborne platform. In this dynamic role, you will engage in the full lifecycle of software systems, from initial concept development and lab verification analysis and testing to the deployment of qualified flight software. You will work closely with the software development team to integrate cutting-edge image processing algorithms and serve as the product owner for all software-related aspects. Additionally, you will collaborate with front-end GUI developers to ensure the end user can adequately perform the mission. You will also work with diverse, cross-disciplinary teams, oversee supplier subcontracts, manage system requirements, and deliver a revolutionary imaging solution that meets stringent performance requirements. Investigate options and drive decisions related to system and software architectures (e.g. subsystem behavior, formats and protocols, microservices architecture, compute/resource sizing, integration of COTS/FOSS/GOTS products) Support algorithm development for image generation, metadata processing, filtering, compression, and calibration. Ensure efficient handling of large datasets Characterize, profiling and optimizing performance of image processing pipelines to ensure low latency and high throughput Support software development and inteface design with specilized hardware like GPUs, FPGA,s, or customer ASICs for image processing tasks Collaboration with imaging and optics experts: Work closely with optical scientists, hardware engineers, and software dev team to understand system requirements, and optimize software for specific imaging tasks Ensure the system supports user interaction for tasks such as image analysis and visualization Support the software integration and testing phases to ensure seamless functionality and performance of the sensor software system in both laboratory and final integration Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for relevant experience Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles Knowledge of EO/IR systems to include requirements development and allocation, architecture definition, as well as laboratory and field testing Experience in agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across agile development teams Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer Experience with the design, build and testing of calibrated Infrared Imaging systems for military applications. An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required Preferred: Experience with integration and certification of sensors or other systems onto airborne platforms Experience with radiometric modeling Experience with image processing techniques Knowledge of the OMS/UCI standard Strong laboratory and software prototyping skills Experience with windows and Linux operating systems and administration Basic understanding of IT equipment hardware configuration and maintenance Proficiency in an analytical toolchains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) Experience with MBSE techniques (e.g. Cameo, SysML, etc.) Knowledge of optical imaging system components (lenses, sensors, sensor and image processing electronics, etc.) and their characterization Ll-hybrid Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
