Job Title: Registered Nurse - Surgical Oncology Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: [Not specified] Experience: 2 Years of Experience Required License: Must have valid compact or state license Certifications: - Required: BLS - Preferred: ONS Chemo Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC Computerized Charting Job Description: - Staffing ratios aim for 1:4 but can be 1:5 - Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs - No set/blocked scheduling; self-schedule requests are accepted - First week of orientation includes a Monday-Friday day shift - Second week involves 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor - Patient age group: Adults and Geriatrics - Patient diagnoses include but are not limited to Surgical Oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), Hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine), Colorectal (colon, rectal cancer), Plastics (reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma) - Special procedures and unit details include Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies, Cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls - Must be aware of the urgency of completing fingerprinting as per compliance requirements - Locals are accepted at the same rate and should be within a 60-mile radius Please note: Candidates currently employed by the facility are not eligible for this position, and previous employees are eligible only after a six-month hiatus from the facility. Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
