THE POSITIONThe Park School of Baltimore seeks a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion starting July 1, 2025. This is a full-time, 12-month, Pre-K-12 senior administrative position that promotes the school’s longstanding commitment to ensuring that all students, families, and employees feel valued and supported at Park. Working with other administrators and faculty, the Director is responsible for identifying and assessing areas of specific need, for building capacity to address those areas through strong partnerships and shared responsibility, and for implementing actions needed to build and sustain an inclusive, welcoming community.RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:Helping to develop and communicate the school’s long and short-term goals for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.With the Head of School and other senior administrators, leading the school’s efforts to fulfill those goals.Serving as the school’s primary liaison to the Board of Trustees’ DEI committee.Leading and supervising all DEI school team members.Working with division principals to coordinate programming and initiatives across all three divisions, including but not limited to affinity groups, assemblies and speakers, and curricular initiatives.Working directly with the Parents’ Association, helping to coordinate DEI initiatives among the parent body.If appropriate, co-facilitating the parents of color affinity group(s).Being an accessible, visible, and effective resource for students and employees with regard to all DEI matters.Counseling and supporting students and families on issues related to identity development.Leading or coordinating professional development work for faculty and staff related to supporting the school’s DEI and anti-bias objectives.Supporting faculty/staff affinity groups.Staying current in the field and maintaining relationships with other schools and community organizations engaged in DEI work.Assisting senior leadership in cultivating, attracting, supporting, and retaining a diverse faculty and staff.This includes data collection and documentation of the school’s progress of the school’s goals.QUALIFICATIONSAbility to balance advocacy needed to promote change with diplomacy required to engender broad community support for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.Experience working with students in diversity work and demonstrated ability to establish trust and rapport.Experience initiating open discussions around topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion with students, faculty and staff, and families.Deep grounding in theory and best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.Ability to manage and address conflict.Strong listening and facilitation skills.A growth mindset.Restorative justice training preferred.Teaching and curriculum development experience preferred.Leadership experience and strong organizational skills.SALARYPark salaries are highly competitive with those in other leading area independent schools. For new appointments, salaries reflect experience and training equated to Park’s scales. The salary range is: $85,000 – $110,000 per year.BENEFITSPark’s benefits include a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions, and medical, dental, and vision insurance for individuals and families.
