Carroll Motor Fuels & High’s of Baltimore is seeking a
Chief Information Officer, (“CIO”),
who will be responsible for overseeing the information technology (IT) strategy, operations, and initiatives for both companies. Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business strategies, driving innovation, and optimizing operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute the overall IT strategy to support the business goals and objectives of both Caroll Fuel and High’s. Communicating and building strong relationships with business unit leaders.
IT Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all technology systems and infrastructure across the company.
Team Leadership:
Lead and inspire a high-performing IT team, fostering collaboration, professional development, and a culture of innovation.
Technology Solutions:
Evaluate, recommend, and implement cutting-edge technology solutions that drive operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and enable growth.
Foster a culture of innovation and digital transformation within the IT department and across the organization. This includes identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, such as AI, IoT, and blockchain, to gain a competitive advantage.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Data Management and Analytics:
Develop strategies to optimize data collection, storage, and analytics capabilities to drive informed decision-making and deliver business insights.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation.
Risk Management:
Proven background in developing and implementing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization’s data, systems, and infrastructure from cyber threats. This includes overseeing security measures, PCI compliance, incident response plans and compliance with data protection regulations.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology to align with business priorities.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in IT leadership roles, experience in the retail or fuel industry helpful with at least 5 years leading / building information technology organizations.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing IT strategies that align with business objectives.
Strong technical knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security, data management, and emerging technologies.
Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team, foster collaboration, and manage performance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
Experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
Salary is based on experience and subject to the discretion of the Chief Operating Officer.
