Summary:

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President & Chief Information Officer (VP & CIO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of Information Technology (IT) within Providence Community Health Centers. This role is critical in leveraging technology to enhance patient care, ensure data security, and drive organizational efficiency and growth.

The VP & CIO leads the IT function with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and compliance, aligning IT strategies with the overarching goals of the organization. The role encompasses oversight of all IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, electronic health records (EHR), data management, and emerging technologies, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-looking IT strategy that supports the organization's mission, enhances patient care, and optimizes operational efficiency. Advise the executive team on the impact of emerging technologies and digital trends in healthcare. IT Operations & Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and management of all IT projects, ensuring they align with business objectives, budget constraints, and timelines. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, cloud services, and EHR systems. Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures that reflect industry best practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Cybersecurity & Data Governance:

Lead efforts to protect sensitive patient data through robust cybersecurity protocols and risk management strategies. Oversee data governance initiatives, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and proper utilization across the organization. Innovation & Technology Adoption:

Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies that enhance patient care, improve service delivery, and streamline operations. Promote the use of data analytics to inform decision-making and improve clinical outcomes. Leadership & Talent Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service. Identify talent needs and oversee recruitment, training, and professional development efforts within the IT department. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Communicate the value and impact of IT initiatives to the broader organization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those specific to healthcare IT and cybersecurity. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities. Financial Management:

Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services while maximizing value to the organization. Negotiate and manage vendor contracts to secure favorable terms and ensure high-quality service delivery. Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications-Required:

Experience:

10+ years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years in IT leadership roles. 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT management, with a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and standards. Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a complex, fast-paced environment. Skills & Competencies:

Demonstrated knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, EHR systems, data management, and software implementation. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align IT initiatives with organizational goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven track record in managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations. Qualifications-Preferred:

Experience with Epic EHR systems. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. Education-Required:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education-Preferred:

Master's degree in a related field. Certification in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant credentials.
