Shifts & Scheduling: self-scheduling.Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period.Holiday Requirement: there is a holiday rotation schedule.Is there Call or a Standby requirement: standby (monitored by our central staffing).Unit Specific Information
Unit: MS/Ortho# Beds: 32Common diagnoses/Types of patients: post-op: colorectal, urological, bariatric, hepatobiliary, hysterectomy, breast recon, etc. AND Chemo/Oncology patientsAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes - day shift only. Usually have 12-14 patients eachRT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.): Cpap, high flow for palliative care patients onlyScrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? navy blueUnit/Department specific orientation: Yes - 2 shifts with a preceptorAdditional Details
Are RNs required to titrate drips? NoCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: PCAsCharge Nurse/House Supervisor? Charge nurse does not take assignment, but may have to help administer chemo on/off the unitFloating Requirements? Yes, to other med/surg/tele unitsOur unit is also equipped/prepped to admit appropriate patients to hall/overflow space and may need to prep some rooms to 'double-bunk'
