Senior Accountant Responsibilities The Senior Accountant position takes the lead on key monthly accounting tasks and communicates with the General Accounting Manager to ensure that these tasks are completed accurately and by the specified deadline This includes journal entries and account analysis, financial reports and analysis, and monthly/quarterly account reconciliations. Recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes and performs activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements Supports and participates in the monthly financial statement close process ensuring that respective financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely Prepare, review, and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations relating to Cash and Prepaids, and immediately address reconciling items Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information relating to various balance sheet and income statement accounts Monitors ledger integrity for assigned accounts through queries and individual transaction review Prepares supporting schedules for the annual external audit and various bank audits throughout the yea Assist with special accounting projects Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s or MBA tracking a plus (not required) 4 years’ experience in a corporate accounting department Will consider someone who has been a Staff Accountant for 3 years and is ready for the next step System Savvy, strong intermediate skills using MS Excel Must have large ERP experience, preferably SAP Strong mathematical aptitude, resourceful, detail oriented Strong work ethic, drive to succeed and grow career
