Responsibilities
Monitors surveillance cameras and equipment.Accesses control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems and other protective equipment/systems.Monitors and logs radio transmissions using call signs.Answers the telephone, takes messages.Maintains Duty Log in legible manner.Dispatches and/or notifies Security Guards of all unusual activity.Reports and documents same, summons resources and coordinates emergency personnel responding to emergencies and document same.Qualifications
Must be US Citizen.All personnel must be able to pass a favorably single scope background investigation (SSBI) prior to commencing work.All Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical exam to include drug screening.Be in possession of a valid Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration.Be at least 21 years of age.Possess either a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.Be able to speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English.Be in possession of a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in his/her state of residence.Additionally, applicants for Alarm Monitor must meet the criteria set forth in sub section 1.Shall have a minimum of 1 year experience in basic law enforcement, emergency dispatch, or related field.Shall have the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, maintain records and prepare reports.Work independently with little direction.Maintain professional communication with local law enforcement agencies and fire departments.Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner and provide training to other Alarm Monitors to perform the essential functions of the job.Utilize criminal justice databases provided by the Government to assist in the vetting of visitors and short-term contractors.
