The Manufacturing Quality Data Engineering team is a high-impact, high-priority, and high-visibility team that is laser-focused on addressing safety-critical issues and expanding critical services to Gigafactories worldwide. As part of Tesla's Vehicle Engineering organization, you will have access to a vast array of data sources across design, manufacturing, and vehicle data, empowering you to design, develop, and deploy innovative data services, automation, and machine learning tools into production use. In this role, you will focus on back-end development in Python and GO for critical internals engineering tools worldwide, where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our critical internal engineering tools, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment, and troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, all while staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation n areas such as Industry 4.0, equipment sensor and vehicle data.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems using Python and Go programming languages, including internal web applications, engineering tools, and real-time software systemsDevelop new system architectures, databases, and integration systems to meet the requirements of our applications and ensure seamless integration with frontend systemsWrite elegant and scalable application programming interface (APIs) to interact with applications, systems, and databases, and design and develop real-time software systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apache FlinkCreate logging and monitoring systems to track system health and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend, DevOps, and data science teams, to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our backend systems and realize interactive solutions through rapid iterationTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in our backend systems and strive for best software engineering practices through code reviews, design documentation, and adherence to coding standards and best practicesStay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our backend systems and drive innovation in areas such as Industry 4.0, equipment sensor and vehicle dataRequirements

Degree in Computer Science, Compute Engineering, or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant work experience inbackend software development with Python and Go or equivalent experienceExpert-level proficiency in designing and developing scalable, efficient, and secure APIs using Python and Go, with in-depth knowledge of REST and gRPC standards, and experience with popular backend frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI (Python) and Gin, or Echo (Go)Experience with databases, including SQL (e.g. MySQL,Microsoft SQL), NoSQL (e.g. Mongo DB, Elastic search) databases, and column-storedatabase (e.g. Click House) and good knowledge of query optimizationExperience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes, and experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tight deadlinesStrong understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices, and experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as GitStrong attention to details and diligent in unit testing and integration testing practices, and excellent problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholdersCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$120,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
