11/8/2024Job SummaryThe Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.This position is in the Immediate Office (Capitol Service Center), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House), serving as an Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days. The Intern will be provided a structured educational opportunity through exposure to the business operations of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Intern will have the opportunity to rotate through different assignments to gain real life experience for their degree, certification, or professional development.*Paid at an annual rate of $35,677 not to exceed 120 days** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.Primary Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides support for various reports and other administrative tasks; provides timelyinformation for management, stakeholders, and customers.Works with management in helping the office deliver passionate and professional customerservice.Participates in routine planning activities related to the work at hand and assists with thedevelopment of timelines or planning documents.Able to develop effective relationships with internal and external solutions delivery partnersto achieve strategic and customer solution goals.Has skills in customer service, consultation, and outreach.Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Experience working within a contact center environment preferred.
