About the Team SWIB's Technology & Data Division is a highly valued partner to our investment teams and a critical contributor to SWIB's continued growth and success. With approximately 75 employees, the division comprises (a) technology, including business systems analysts, design & development, infrastructure, and information security and governance teams; (b) data, including data science, investment data, investment information architecture, data engineering, and reporting; (c) business integration, change, and coordination; and (d) project management. As a top asset owner, our technology and data systems address the entire breadth of investments. Our mission-critical technology and data are essential to deliver internally managed equity, fixed income, and hedge funds strategies, and to oversee external managers investing in both private and publicly traded assets. The team also runs the systems to operate and protect our organization. A few of our current key systems include SimCorp, eFront, Charles River, Snowflake, Markit, and FactSet. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Information Delivery Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Information Delivery Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing our data-driven decision-making processes by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information to support business and investment decisions. This position requires an analytical mindset, proficiency in data visualization tools, and an understanding of business intelligence concepts. The Information Delivery Analyst will report to the Investment Information and Reporting Manager and will partner with staff throughout the organization to deliver timely and actionable insights by leveraging BI tools such as Power BI. Essential activities: Partner with teams across the agency to develop reports and dashboards that meet their specific needs. This involves driving, documenting and understanding requirements and translating them into effective visualizations. Create impactful and insightful reports using Power BI. Ensure reports are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with business objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in reporting practices. Stay updated on reporting trends and industry best practices to enhance report design and usability. Drive enhancements that improve usability, effectiveness, scalability, and data governance. Provide support for report related issues and questions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex challenges to ensure uninterrupted access to critical business insights. Maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting processes, incidents, and resolutions. This documentation serves as a reference for troubleshooting and maintaining consistency in reporting practices. Adhere to best practices in data visualization, accessibility, and security when designing and publishing reports. Ensure compliance with agency standards and data governance policies. The ideal candidate: Demonstrates a proactive attitude towards enablement through insightful reporting and dashboard solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience using Power BI, or similar tool such as Quik Sense, Tableau, or MicroStrategy 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards. General knowledge of and interest in the investment industry Direct experience in the financial services industry. Familiarity with data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and SQL querying for data manipulation and integration within reports. Experience implementing testing tools and data quality metrics/processes to ensure overall data quality of reports that are supported and developed. Proficient in conducting data analysis, interpreting financial information, and presenting insights to support decision-making processes. Experience deploying reports utilizing automated processes Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment techniques (CICD). Experience deploying to cloud providers such as Azure. Experience with Snowflake as a data source is a plus. Pursuant to our Hybrid Remote Work Policy, all staff have the flexibility to work remotely, but are required to have a weekly presence in our offices, the frequency of which is dependent on their distance from office. Staff are not required to reside locally; however, we offer relocation reimbursement to the Dane County area per our policy.
