Description:This person will be responsible for:- Leading a team of 2 to 6 Test Engineers depending on the size of the project.- Providing estimates for testing schedules, test resources, and equipment needs.- Ensuring that detailed test requirements are included in product requirements.- Keeping project and department managers updated on the project testing status.- Analyzing functional requirements, to generate a comprehensive set of test cases.- Writing functional test procedures and automated test scripts that provide comprehensive testing of the product requirements.- Executing test procedures and automated test scripts as part of formal product testing.- Conducting exploratory testing based on detailed knowledge of the product under test.- Performing test reviews for other test engineers.- Reporting product issues within the defect tracking system and manage the resulting defect log through the point of defect fix validation.- Collaborating with extended team to build and enhance automated test tools and frameworks.Individual should be able to:- Meet short- and long-term deadlines.- Effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers.- Work regularly and dependably.- Function in a team environment.- Demonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.- Demonstrate ability to perform mental tasks such as making decisions, learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment.- Take on other duties as assigned.Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, HVACR Technology, or related discipline, or commensurate experience in software development or software testing is required.- 2 - 6 years of experience in engineering or related discipline - preferably in software testing.- Should have demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.- Must understand and adhere to safety measures when working with electrical equipment.- Should have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others in writing and orally.- Course work or experience in the following areas is desired: current test methodologies, quality assurance practices, and object-oriented and component based product development.- Experience with automated testing is desired.- Programming experience is desired.- Knowledge of industrial/embedded controls and building control systems is desired.- Knowledge of refrigeration cycle/chillers is desired.- Experience testing and configuring embedded controllers is desired.Skills:software testing, automated testing, microprocessor, Embedded software, Electronics, Unit testing, linux, hvac, project managementAdditional Skills & Qualifications:- Needing a candidate to understand test both manual and automated testing. This candidate will be using an in-house automated software tool- This candidate will be working with both positive and negative test cases. Someone who is able to detect any deviations with the test cases- They developed a test automation software that these people will be using to test and document failures and test cases- Needs to have some hands-on test automation experience- After capturing test cases, they are running those again to test, documenting any defects in the software and the cycle continues- Looking for a test engineer who has project management/lead experience: they're directing the actions of a small team of software test engineers- This candidate will be completing estimates, making sure they have the correct equipment, controllers, test fixtures, creating schedules, working closely with product manager, reporting to other managers (defects, fixes etc) *organization pieceAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
