The USU Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a motivated and team-oriented full stack web developer to develop database-backed web applications, public facing websites, and interface with 3rd-party applications. In this role, you will work closely with a team of designers and developers to build functional and engaging websites, while ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements.

Primary ResponsibilitiesWrite clean, consistent and well-documented codeDesign, implement, test, and maintain web applications using a variety of web technologies and librariesCreate quality UI mockups, storyboards, and prototypesDesign relational data modelsCollaborate in an Agile/Scrum development environmentGet feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customersProvide operational support for existing systemsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issuesGather and evaluate user requirements and feedback with customers, product managers, and teamQualifications

BS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related fieldMinimum5years of full-time, professional

web application development experienceOutstanding skills in two or more of the following:

Front-end web developmentApplication design and developmentBack-end developmentRelational databasesSoftware quality assurance

Superior analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and customer-service orientedMust be a US citizenPreferred Qualifications

MS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related fieldUnderstanding of UX/UI design principlesExperience with responsive web designExperience with JavaScript frameworks including modern front-end libraries (e.g. Vue)Knowledge of SEO principlesSDL supports a variety of missions, including NASA's vision to reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind and the Department of Defense's aim to protect our nation on the ground, in the air, and in space.
