Job Description Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking Agile Project Manager with a passion for growth and business transformation for a Federal client in the Washington, DC area. Duties and Responsibilities: The Agile Project Manager will assist in the successful product development support with an emphasis on agile, test-driven development, and continuous integration methodologies to assist and enhance efforts to secure new applications. The successful candidate will champion planning, coordination, and communication of the multidisciplinary/cross-functional teams responsible for delivering agile product development and defined subsystems, products and/or services. The Agile Project Manager will provide necessary services, qualified personnel, material, and methodologies as needed and approved by IRS to perform agile IT Portfolio/project, and development support services for digital/online applications. Duties include but may not be limited to: Own and drive complex efforts with multiple threads of work including several significant releases across the life of the project Provide technical leadership/guidance to the project team in performance of the work, and review the quality of work products Organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of all project support activities Project planning, scheduling, and monitoring Managing data calls to include coordination, analysis, tracking, and data gathering Creating and updating project management plans to include resources, risk management, and other management controls to be employed to meet performance and schedule requirements Establish and tracking project metrics Conduct project status meetings with project stakeholders Critical transactional/product based effort integrating significant portions of existing delivery and support teams This is a hands-on role with an advanced agile Delivery/Technology team with heavy executive leadership engagement Able to effectively articulate demonstrated experience leading agile and IT delivery teams Responsible for working with a wide stakeholder team to deliver large cross site solutions in a competitive, fast paced, collaborative, and multi-system environment Ability to see, articulate and build the big picture while still focusing on meeting critical and often tight delivery commitments Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments for self and teams Must have experience a planning, developing and maintaining resource loaded program schedules A seasoned, experienced professional having a wide range of professional experience and possessing a strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects as a technical lead with little or no direction, frequently provides direction and leadership to technical teams and determines methods and procedures Strong ability to handle significant responsibility, leadership and accountability while executing very complex assignments Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions; someone who is capable of providing technical leadership to an organization Requirements Minimum Qualifications/Experience: 5 years of proven experience managing technology projects in a large matrix organization Minimum 3-5 years specifically managing complex technology projects and directly managing or leading engineering teams of 20 employees Federal IT Software Delivery experience and managing individual project budgets Proven experience influencing and presenting to leadership Fluency with developing and executing project schedules Problem-solving experience in a team environment Experience with Jira and Agile Project Management Experience managing multiple agile teams and scrum masters Must exhibit strong interpersonal skill, with ability to work with a variety of personality types Proven experience working with complex and integrated technology systems; at an enterprise level with multiple integration partners Able to successfully adapt, build relationship, and influence complex Business and Technology stakeholders Must thrive working independently in a very fast-paced, results-oriented environment Understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques, such as front-end functional testing, system integration testing, performance and load testing Operational Readiness Testing experience Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' experience, or a Master's Degree Required Certifications: PMP Certification Required Agile, SAFe, and Scrum Certifications Preferred Other: Must be US Citizen Willingness to be on-site in New Carrollton (Lanham), Maryland Willingness to travel and/or telecommute on occasion depending on customer needs
