MHS is currently seeking a full-time Director of Psychological Services to join the team. The Director advocates and provides a psychological perspective within Education and Student Life, and represents students’ mental health & wellness on policy-making committees and standards development.

The Director of Psychological Services provides administrative and clinical leadership, direction, and supervision for the Psychological Services Program which includes an expansive range of responsibilities regarding the mental health and wellness of MHS students.

These include, among others, assessment of suicide and lethality risk, and determination to proceed with psychiatric hospitalizations. Also, oversees behavioral services, contracted drug and alcohol services, contracted psychiatric services, standardization of all clinical protocols, management and crisis services, and the development of clinical policies and procedures for Psychological Services. The Director of Psychological Services serves as the designated Training Director for the APA nationally accredited pre-doctoral internship program. Furthermore, the director is responsible for the implementation of the Psychological Service Emergency Response Plan and back-up for the Senior Director of Student Health Services as the Crisis Support Services Section Chief.

This is a year-round, onsite role located in Hershey, PA. While this position does not require standard office hours on holidays and weekends, a requirement of the position is to receive and respond to calls in a 24-hour-a day, seven-day-a-week basis. Attendance at approximately 2 school weekend functions is required as well.

The salary ranges from $138,000.00 - $184,000.00, pay is determined based on experience. Qualifications:

PhD or Psy.D. in counseling, school psychology, or clinical psychology from an APA accredited institution is required.

Pennsylvania Licensure as a psychologist is required.

Pennsylvania Certification as a school psychologist is preferred.

Prior experience in program development and supervision in an APA nationally accredited Pre-doctoral Internship Program is required.

Minimum of 8 years of experience supervising a team that provides psychological/diagnostic services to children Pre-K to12 grades.

Knowledge of and/or experience in comprehensive community health services plans and in standards-based schools preferred.

Experience and knowledge with specialty training in child abuse and sexualized behavior investigating and treatment, a plus.

Communication skills, both written and oral, with adults and children from diverse backgrounds.

Leadership and organizational skills.

Highly skilled in effectively collaborating with others, including multi-disciplinary teams.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.

Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
