Located at our West Trenton, NJ headquarters, this is a wonderful opportunity for a second-year law student to enjoy sharpening research and writing skills in this heavy research role, while collaborating with our fine legal team.The law clerk will gain work experience while performing meaningful tasks and projects. This summer internship is part of a structured program that will provide the law clerk with challenging work assignments/projects, an overall view of the business and litigation, and networking opportunities.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist with various legal research assignments and writing legal memoranda.
May assist with various research related tasks to maintain the General Claims Legal Index, a multi-state legal resource for property and casualty insurance related issues.
Assist the staff attorneys in other tasks.
Required Qualifications and ExperienceStudent must have completed the second year of law school by the summer.
Ability to begin first week of June for about eight weeks.
Minimum 3.0 GPA overall - undergraduate
Some knowledge of insurance coverage and tort law
Previous legal work experience is a plus.
Ability to multitask.
Self-directed worker with the ability to learn quickly and pursue Internship with enthusiasm and focus.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent research and communication skills, both written and oral
Eligible to work in the United States
Pass NJM pre-employment background check and drug test.
