The accelerated career path as an Operations Engineer in our Operations Management Development Program (OMDP) is unlike any other company, as you control your project direction and are limited only by your own abilities.
An Operations Engineer is responsible for continuous improvement within Medline’s distribution centers. The goal of the operations management development program is to expose you to areas within distribution including warehouse management, inventory management, transportation/ logistics, supply chain management and customer service. Typical program length is approximately, but not limited to, two and a half years in order to fully develop skills required to advance your career into operations management.
Job Description
Available Rotations with Core Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
Continuous improvement projects within the Medline distribution centers using lean methodology.
Engineering labor standards and development of new processes.
Tracking/reviewing monthly/annual KPIs with the distribution centers.
Configuration and maintenance of Medline’s labor management system (LMS) and warehouse management system (WMS).
Available Rotations:
I/S – Design and document software enhancements within an agile framework. Support technology go lives and existing software solutions.
Transportation/Logistics – Improve processes for Medline’s private fleet as well as implement new technology.
Maintenance – Increase automation uptime and optimize forklift fleet management.
Emerging Technology and International Support – Aid in the evaluation of new technology solutions and support Medline’s business abroad.
Supply Chain Optimization - Work directly with Medline’s customers to improve processes in their environments.
To qualify, you must possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Systems strongly preferred)
Internship experience in process improvement and/or project management is strongly preferred
Travel required 30% of the time
Unrestricted permanent US work authorization
