Scenic Artist Paint Technician

To provide an excellent Automotive Quality finished product representing the skills and capabilities held by the company. To accurately represent the desired look and feel of a client’s proposed project for the theme park industry. (Not Painting Automobiles).

Job Duties:

• Primary Skills: masking and creating fine and clean lines consistent with Automotive Paint quality.
• Surface preparation: masking off parts, sanding, cleaning, and preparing surfaces for painting.
• Experienced and knowledge of application with Automotive finish and competent to mix colors and washes.
• Apply paint finishes using various preparation and application techniques, including using sprays, solvents, etc.
• Perform paint techniques such as washes, glazes, textures, base coating, and clear coating.
• Working with urethanes, water based, oil based, stains, lacquers, epoxies, etc.
• Use of tools including spray guns, airless sprayers, sanders, grinders, etc.
• Maintaining equipment: Cleaning and maintaining spray guns and other painting equipment
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail to ensure the highest quality finish.
• Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
• Accurately and efficiently put-away or pick material.
• Participate in team/safety meetings.
• Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the Shop.
• Perform tasks in repetition by meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience with automotive painting
• Airbrush experience
• Ability to absorb and reproduce techniques and procedures using approved materials and tools.
• Attention to detail and mindful of small imperfections
• Show proper care and respect for personal and company tools and materials.
• Must be enthusiastic, hardworking, desire to learn and ready to share their knowledge.
• Fine and clean lines

Work Schedule:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting.

Hours: Extremely flexible, able to accommodate various schedules. Great option for a second job to make additional income.

• 30-minute lunch (unpaid)
• 15-minute break (paid)

Work Schedule may offer varied and flexible schedule based on project and shop demands. Communication from Scenic Production Manager will be given as far in advance as possible.

Work environment will change often and will require consistent awareness to surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. with assistance from others or lifting devices from floor to waist and waist to floor.
• Ability to walk, hear, see in order to reasonably perform essential job functions.
• Must have agility and a good sense of balance, willing to work in high places.

$27.00/hr DOE
