Job Summary

Develop and implement change management initiatives to maximize employee adoption and usage and to minimize resistance. Expected outcomes are faster adoption and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.

Role focuses on the people side of change, which involves preparing, supporting and equipping people to adopt and use changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, organization structures, and more.

Will partner with project teams in integrating change management activities into overall project plans.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Partner

  • Serve as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders, delivering cutting-edge organizational effectiveness and change management solutions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies and plans for multiple transformation projects

Change Management Practice

  • Apply structured CM methodology, communication planning, organizational readiness assessment and stakeholder analyses

  • Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support the adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative

  • Primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance

Change Management Activities

  • Develop and/or guide the development of comprehensive change plans outlining detailed change activities to maximize user adoption and minimize business disruption

  • Play a key role in ensuring projects and initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage

  • Monitor the execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption of normal business operations

Change Impact Assessment

  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business strategy, identify needed transformational change and organizational capabilities and put the right conditions in place to grow those capabilities

  • Create and/or lead stakeholder and change impact assessments

  • Proactively manage anticipated resistance; develop risk mitigation tactics

Communications

  • Support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications

  • Manage CM communications with stakeholders

  • Ensure Change Impact communicated throughout organization (bottom to top)

Training/Coaching

  • Act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in fulfilling the role of change sponsor

  • Help establish and align cross-functional teams at project level to successfully develop and execute integrated change plans

  • Provide direct support and coaching to frontline managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions

  • Support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans

Reporting & Resources

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor progress; evaluate and report on employee/user readiness

  • Track and report issues

  • Serve as escalation point for OD/Change resources assigned to projects in assigned portfolio

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in organization development, human performance technology, communications or related field.

Work Experience:

  • At least 7 years overall change management experience to include at least 3 years’ experience with large-scale, cross-functional change management projects (ex. ERP roll-out).

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Requires experience applying Change Management methodology/practice:

  • Business analysis & process design;

  • User adoption strategies;

  • Change impact & risk assessment/mitigation;

  • Training/curriculum analysis, strategy, design & development;

  • Training & SOP creation

  • Demonstrated experience building stakeholder engagement & leadership alignment.

  • Analysis/Business Acumen: ability to quickly gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources; aptitude for translating complex topics and issues into broadly understandable messages to employees

  • Project Management: skill/ability in Program & Project Management; demonstrated through prioritization, organization and tracking details of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

  • Communication Skills: ability to develop communication, change management and/or training plans, materials; ability to tailor messages to various employee audiences using appropriate tone, nuance, and level of information; excellent command of grammar and usage

  • Relationships: role requires working through many others in the organization to succeed; experience collaborating cross functionally in a matrix structure and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state, out of state and within North America).

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Certification / Licensure:

  • Certification in Change Management from a credentialed organization (ex. Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP)).

Work Experience:

  • Experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expenses and capital budgets.
