Accounting Manager
Our client, a well-established construction company based in San Antonio, specializing in the reconstruction and remediation of residential and commercial properties, is currently seeking an Accounting Manager. They are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to lead the accounting department and provide essential financial support to the ownership team.
Salary: $100,000-140,000
Location: 5 days a week in San Antonio, Texas

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Generate monthly financial reports for both individual divisions and the company as a whole.
- Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns.
- Compile and submit monthly workers' compensation data to the insurance carrier.
- Record and manage journal entries.
- Conduct reconciliation of bank accounts and intercompany accounts.
- Ensure subsidiary ledgers align with the general ledger.
- Implement Job Cost Reallocations to optimize project financial tracking.
- Prepare quarterly reports for payroll taxes.
- Develop annual financial work papers.
- Provide annual 401K census to the plan provider.
- Update Fixed Assets and manage Insurance updates for comprehensive coverage.
- Manage Checks, including check clearance and stop payment processes.
- Undertake various duties, tasks, and special projects as required, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.
Annual Duties of the Accounting Manager:
- Develop and refine the Annual Budget for strategic financial planning.
- Prepare meticulous Annual Workpapers to facilitate a comprehensive financial review.
- Conduct the Annual Workers Comp Audit to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Submit precise Annual 401K Census Data for Form 5500 reporting.
- Oversee Insurance Renewals for both Commercial and Employee Benefits.
- Handle the preparation and submission of W-2's and 1099's with attention to detail.
- Complete and submit Form 940 for accurate tax reporting.
Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:
- 6+ years of combined experience in public accounting and as a controller.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, with a focus on deadlines and results.
- Exhibit above-average proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Spectrum General Ledger is a plus.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.
