Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations as well as providing effective and efficient accounting functions in accordance with Board approved policies, procedures and applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in order that the strategic/financial objectives of the agency are attained. This includes analytical work and thorough review of financial activities/records.This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills.
*Duties*- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes- Prepare and analyze financial statements- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring- Conduct reconciliations of general ledger accounts- Support month-end and year-end close processes- Collaborate with the finance team on various projects- Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Quicken- Perform financial report interpretation and analysis
*Qualifications*-* *Education/Regulatory Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.* *Skills:** One to three years’ experience as an accountant with experience in general ledger, tax returns and preparation of financial statements and reports, preferably in a health care environment.* Ability to monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations.* Experience with computer financial applications, including accounting and billing systems, spreadsheets and databases. Ability to use such applications in order to prepare analytical reports, including charts and graphs.
