Description

Under general supervision is responsible for technical and administrative work involving the recording, maintenance, and analysis of fleet data and related vehicle repair information and other related assigned duties. The Fleet Maintenance Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the economic and performance analysis of major fleet decisions that contribute to The City of Columbia's fleet strategy.

The work is considered sedentary in nature and involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations. The work requires the following physical abilities to perform the essential job functions: fingering, handling, hearing, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

Work environment may involve exposure to extreme noise levels, dusts and pollen, bright/dim light, toxic/caustic chemicals, fumes and/or noxious odors; and may at times work around heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to co-workers or others.Essential Job Functions

Performs and coordinates work involving the receipt, collection, input, retrieval, coding, analysis, reporting and classification of data based information.Provides data support within the fleet areas involving inventory, work order, preventative maintenance scheduling, fuel economy, and equipment maintenance reporting needs.Analyzes data information and prepares special and periodic reports as requested by department management.Provides information to user departments or maintenance areas on equipment, inventories, and special projects.Evaluates and communicates fleet data system use and data information to department management.May lead or train subordinates or users in absence of supervisor or as directed.Qualifications

Minimum Requirements to Perform Work:

Associates Degree in business management, accounting, business information systems, computer science, or other closely related field or (5) years relevant fleet management experience.Two Years of relevant prior experience.Valid South Carolina Class "D" Driver's License.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Considerable knowledge of the principles, applications, and capabilities of Microsoft Office Software.Good knowledge of data control and organization techniques.Good knowledge of fleet related equipment, vehicle maintenance and related administrative concerns.Ability to analyze data information and report requests and provide useful management information; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to train and direct other employees; and the ability to courteously and tactfully communicate with fellow workers, supervisors, other members of the organization, and the public in giving and receiving information.
