Our client is currently seeking a

Level 4 Networking Technician

to join their team

onsite

in Chandler, AZ. This Technician will be responsible for providing first level Smart Hands support to second level and third level support teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:Maintaining network environment as part of onsite team in support of physical touch (Smart Hands) support of Incident and or RequestsProviding incident support by working with remote level 2 / 3 teams to assist in resolving outages and fixing issues including replacement of cabling or hardware componentsProviding service request support and working with remote network support teams to install hardware or patch cables to enable new services for customersParticipating in hardware rack and stack installation of both network and server equipment, cable management, and installation of required fiber and copper patch leads, providing console access to remote team for configuration if required and testing connectivity after installation and configurationPerforming installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and 7, and Fiber Optic cablingAssisting with material control to ensure all required materials are available to complete the daily workEnsuring quality and safety guidelines are followedEnsuring ticketed requests are assigned, communicated, and addressed within client SLAPerforming quality evaluation, diagnosing, troubleshooting of cabling systems, and performing replacement / repairs as necessaryAssisting data center teams and data center managers in accomplishing daily infrastructure new landings within SLAReceiving hardware shipments for data center equipment landingsValidating purchase order accuracy of hardware receivedUnboxing and recycling of materialsMoving equipment from dock to staging areas and or to DC racksInstallation or retrofitting of server racks - rail and shelving installationPower and network cable installation and cable managementScanning and labeling of installed devices (network or server)Designating parts identified for spare part stock inventoryProper e-waste handling and disposalEquipment shipping and receiving as neededProviding escort service for vendors / techsPerforming work request tasks from ServiceNow ticket systemWorking in datacenters, networking rooms

Skills and Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of educationData center experience requiredMinimum 4+ years of combined experience in a site support technician and / or infrastructure technician role (or similar experience)Minimum 4+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and providing basic configuration support of networking or server devices requiredMinimum 3+ years of combined experience working in data centers, labs, or server room environments requiredNetwork cabling certifications required

Belden Certified Cable InstallerSYSTIMAX Installation and MaintenanceCorning Certified Fiber Installer certificationsPanduit

Proven ability to install cable pathways, conveyances (i.e., ladder, trays, support systems)Knowledge of terminology pertaining to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systemsMechanical aptitude with the ability to read cable matrix blueprints, mechanical, and or electrical requirement documentsAble to complete physical cables installations and removal of cabling components, TOR (top of rack) switches, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, network gear and related communications infrastructure hardware and materialsStructured Network Cabling experience

Copper: Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Connector Types RJ45Fiber: Multimode, Single Mode, Connector Types - ST, SC, LC

WIFI hardware experience

Wireless LAN ControllersWireless Access Points

Networking experience

IP Addressing, Layer 2 VLAN etc

Experienced in Ethernet Switching hardware

Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies etcTransceiver Types - SX, LX, SR, LR etc

Cable Troubleshooting Knowledge / Experience

Fluke Testers: Copper - Wire Map, Link Test etc, Fiber - OTDR TestingFluke Aircheck: Wireless Testing

Strong communication skills when using phone, email, or face to faceAbility to withstand working in a hot enclosed environment for short time spans required (i.e., data center hot isles)Must be able to perform work while on a ladder (use of ladders is required for top of rack installations)Must be able to work independently as well as in teams of 3-4 and be flexibleMust be able to lift 35 lbs. soloMust be willing to travel between buildings using personal car / footMay be required to walk / sit / stand / crawl / kneel for extended periodsMust have excellent customer service skills and written / verbal communication skillsRequires knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily), Windows 10
