Position Summary: As a school based AAC Specialist, you will work with students with communication disorders or difficulties, providing assessment, diagnosis, and therapy services to help them improve their overall communication skills. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized treatment plans and support students in reaching their educational goals.
Responsibilities:AAC Assessment, SETTAAC device trials and assignmentProgramming of AAC devicesDevelopment of IEP goals and objectivesTraining of parents, teachers, and other team members on the use of AACConsultation and collaboration with other related service providers, teachers, and school team members
Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited university with an M.A. or M.S. in communication disorders that is recognized by ASHAASHA CCC’s or CFState SLP License or in the process of applying for a LicenseTeaching certificate, or ability to obtain (if applicable)
