General Information• Beds: 12 (runs 10 rooms daily)
• Experience: 2 years
• First-time traveler: Yes
• Average cases/day: 25-30

Patient Types:• General, urology, ortho (total joints, ORIF), spine (multi-level, complex posterior/anterior), OBGYN (D&C, hysterectomy; no c-sections), limited vascular (simple procedures; no big procedures), robotics (preferred)
• Anesthesia Tech: pediatrics (does not need pediatric experience)
• No cardiac, brain, transplant
• Top 3 OR cases: Ortho, General, OBGYN (need strong skills)

Covid & PPE:• Patients are tested 72h prior to procedure
• Urgent/Emergent cases-rapid testing
• COVID positive elective surgeries are cancelled
•
Patient Ratios:• 1:1
•
Required Certifications:• RN:• Required: BLS
• Preferred: ACLS
•

Skills required• RN: Strong circulate skills, able to circulate general, ortho, OBGYN, scrub (preferred)

Support on the Unit:• Scheduler M-F
• Charge nurse: free floating
• Manager/Director
• Unit Educator
• Anesthesia in house

Charting System/Equipment:• EPIC (preferred)
• Pyxis
• Alaris
• Bedside telemetry monitoring - anesthesia monitors

Floating:• Inpatient units as taskers, runners, helping hands, sitter• Will not patient assignment
• Will not administer any medications outside scope
• Will in a CNA type capacity
•
Orientation:• 2-day orientation• 1st day: Meet with educator (complete modules, tour, login access, etc.)• Remainder of the day work with a preceptor
• 2nd day: Full 8h shift with preceptor
•
Scheduling:• Weekend rotation: On-call (see on call schedule)
• 6-week schedules, receive 1-2 weeks prior
• No self-scheduling
• M-F schedule with on-call shifts
• RTO: Approve up to 7 days; additional days email Nurse Manager Shannon Ziglinski
• On-call• Weekday: Mon-Fri• 1 day per week
• 4h: 1500-1900
• 12h: 1900-0700
• Weekend: (Sat-Sun)• 1 weekend per every 5 weeks
• Sat 0700-0700 Mon
• Response time:• 30 mins
• Sleep room (SDS)
