Specialty: ED Holds/Tele# of beds: CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED BedsRatios: 1 to 4Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/TeleExperience or 'Must have' skills: Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.Are RNs required to titrate drips? YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, AmiodaroneShifts & Scheduling: 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)Additional Notes: Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.Additional Questions: May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.Job Requirements
Required certifications: BLS, ACLSMust be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters.Must be able to read & interpret strips.Schedule Information
Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time.Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with the perm staffIs there a call or standby requirement? No call requiredUnit Specific Information
Floating Requirements: Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed.Scrub Color/Dress Code: NavyUnit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.Additional Details
THIS IS A TELE POSITION, REQUIRING TELE SKILLSTravelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through RELIAS, only (with 2 max attempts).There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.)
