Certification Details Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa is looking for PCU RNs. 36 hours guaranteed. 1 year of unit experience. Job Requirements BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required. Schedule Information Shifts are 0630-1900, 1830-0700. Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5. Every other weekend required. Holiday requirements: As needed to meet unit needs. Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care. Navy Blue scrub color/dress code. First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor. Busy patient flow- admitting and discharging within the same 6 hour time frame while also completing shift change. Strong sense of teamwork, friendly, positive can-do attitude, engagement in positive patient experience with commitment to bedside report and hourly rounding. Unit Specific Information of Beds: 33. Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- available CNAs fluctuates based on unit census. Shifts & Scheduling: Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule. Additional Details - Department: Stepdown - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure. - RNs are required to titrate drips. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non-titratable). - There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, and the charge nurse may take an assignment. - Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: CNAs have a 1:10 ratio; the availability of CNAs fluctuates based on unit census. - RT Equipment: BiPAP, Airvo. - Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: Yes, RNs must read and interpret.
