About the Role

The Tax Manager, International will manage all tax aspects of the international operations of the Magna US group of companies, including compliance, tax provision, and tax planning initiatives

Your Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all International forms (including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, and 1042)Manage aspects of the annual and quarterly income tax provision processes related to the inbound and outbound investments, activities, and operations of the Magna US group.Assist and/or lead planning initiatives with cross border implications, to include project planning and resourcing, issues identification and resolution, modeling, development of options and risk assessments, preparing and presenting a business case to pursue transactions, driving implementation and ensuring post-implementation actions necessary to meet project objectives.Regularly seek to identify, drive, and implement process improvements within the Tax DepartmentResearch, analyze, and document tax issues as they arise and ensure all working papers are audit-readyCoordinate and collaborate with other Tax Department personnel throughout the organization to achieve objectives and utilize available resources to optimize efficiencies and effectivenessAssist in responding to and resolving inquiries relating to international tax matters by federal taxing authorities, including tax auditsClearly communicate issues, opportunities and solutions to senior management and other team membersLearn the business and the corporate organizational chart, and identify and proactively engage key constituencies throughout the organization to build effective working relationships and further Tax Department objectivesCarry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsFollow the principals of the Magna Employee's Charter and promotes the 'Open Door' policyDevelop, manage, mentor, and motivate junior team membersInterview, hire, and train employees; Plan, assign, and direct work; Appraise performance; reward and counsel employees; Identify, address, and resolve problemsWho we are looking for

Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Accounting10 years of corporate income tax experience with a significant concentration in international taxation.Solid knowledge of international tax rules and ability to perform research and clearly and cogently document facts, issues, and conclusionsDemonstrated experience in and understanding of tax return processes and possession of strong financial accounting skillsWorking and technical knowledge of US international tax rules a must - relevant experience includes; E&P Calculations, Subpart F, Foreign tax credit, including income sourcing and expense apportionment, BEAT, FDII, GILTI, and interest limitation regimes, Cross-border financing, Repatriation planning, Dual consolidated loss (DCL)ASC740, FIN 48, APB 23, and US GAAP accountingExperience managing and developing a team of tax professionalsYour preferred qualifications

Advanced tax-related degree and/or CPAExperience in both industry and public accountingExperience with OneSource, HFM, Microsoft Suite, including PowerBI, and other leading-edge application software highly desired.Transfer pricing experience is helpfulExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsAbility to juggle multiple projects/assignments and meet deadlines with available resourcesStrong project management skills, especially ability to drive through to completionWhat we offer
