Position Summary:

Kemper Sports Venues is looking for an experienced senior business development professional ready to strengthen client relationships, support growth initiatives and drive sales growth in the youth and amateur sports industry. Our ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience around youth sports, sports tourism and sports programming, specifically in municipally run facilities. Candidates must be able to understand and anticipate the unique and evolving needs of municipalities, independent owners of recreation and entertainment facilities with the goal of developing business for Kemper Sports Venues consulting, development and management services.

The Vice President of Business Development will quickly earn the respect of our existing clients, municipal leadership, and ownership groups, while developing new partnerships that help elevate and accomplish our strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead business development process for Kemper’s Sports Venue Division - from collateral creation, client presentations, proposals, custom ROI analysis, and long-form agreements

Apply knowledge of Kemper Sports Venues offerings and understanding of industry trends to identify key prospects, obtain meetings with key decision makers, qualify leads and build a sustainable pipeline

Create and track lead generating opportunities through company approved platforms and track to ensure optimum divisional growth

Build relationships and trust with current and potential partners’ leadership teams in the youth and amateur sports industry including architects, contractors, suppliers, tournament, club and event operators

Generate new business by creating connection points for Kemper ensuring we are well represented in new business presentations

Develop detailed financial and analytical models to further business performance and deal negotiation

Collaborate with a diverse, multi-talented team that has high standards and a fast pace

Work with KemperSports legal team to create client contracts and deal structures

Qualifications:

The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience

8+ years of sales experience or municipal procurement required

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
