Judson Group has partnered with a privately-held independent RIA with $1.8B in AUM in the search for a
Managing Director, Head of Operations – Wealth Management . The firm serves affluent individuals, families as well as private- and public-sector organizations and is looking for a strong operations leader to help guide and grow the firm. This individual will be an integral member of the firm’s leadership team.The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a skilled practitioner with experience in both managing teams and executing key projects that drive operational efficiencies and enhance the client experience.Location:
Remote; preference for San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York City; Occasional travel to San Francisco HQ required.Responsibilities:Responsible for oversight of day-to day client operations functions including onboarding, maintenance, billing, trading operations, and all other client service/operations functionsEnsure client service/operations teams are appropriately staffed, trained and performing at the highest levelCollaborate with members of senior management to review workflows and the tech stack to optimize the overall operational workflows and processes of the firmCollaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives related to client experienceDevelop firm performance goals and long-term operational plans to drive operational efficienciesAnalyze current workflows and operational processes and recommend solutions or improvements where necessaryOptimize digital onboarding and service tools from our custodial partners (Schwab, Fidelity) and integrate with the firm’s current and future technology stackAct as the senior liaison on the firm’s custodial relationships (Schwab, Fidelity) and serve as the escalation point on client issues, transaction requests, and account opening & closing, among other activitiesEnhance and maintain internal KPIs and dashboards to evaluate firm operational performanceRepresent the Operations function during senior management meetingsSupport senior management in driving strategic initiatives, including client segmentation and service model refinement to support the growth of the firm in its key business linesWork with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure critical procedures are adhered to, and information security policies are robustWork with the Performance Reporting team to ensure billing is performed timely and accurately as well as ad hoc projects that may arise periodicallyRequirements:Minimum of ten years of experience within an RIA; minimum of three years of corporate management/leadership experience including managing remote employees.Deep understanding of custodial offerings and their associated web interfaces (Schwab, Fidelity, etc.)Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Salesforce and Addepar experience a plus. Understanding of custodial trading tools and financial planning softwareProven ability to implement and manage operational workflows for maximum efficiency and team productivityExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact up, down, and across the organizationAbility to breakdown complex objectives into discrete steps and tasks to get both management buy-in and facilitate a successful implementationCompensation:
