About the roleWe're looking for a passionate and skilled Developer Advocate, Education to join our Community Engineering team. As our Developer Advocate, Education, you'll be the driving force behind our educational and thought leadership content in the data engineering space. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your technical expertise with your writing finesse, creating compelling content that educates, engages, and empowers our community of data engineers.
The Community Engineering team helps empower data engineers to discover, adopt, and master Dagster as a data platform. We help developers discover Dagster’s capabilities, provide clear and comprehensive resources to help them evaluate Dagster for their use cases, develop and maintain a rich ecosystem of education content, and help facilitate seamless integration of Dagster into their existing stacks with easy-to-understand reference documentation and guides.
You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Data Engineering certification program, crafting insightful ebooks, producing engaging blog posts and contributing to various high-impact projects. Your work will directly influence our marketing pipeline and play a crucial role in elevating Dagster's position as a leader in the data orchestration field.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Data Engineering certification program.
Create engaging and informative data engineering ebooks that help lift the data engineering community.
Write technical blog posts on data engineering topics, trends, and best practices.
Own and contribute to data engineering published book projects, ensuring high-quality, valuable content for the data engineering community.
Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align content strategy with overall business goals and pipeline generation.
Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy and relevance of all content.
Stay current with data engineering trends, technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into your content strategy.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical educational content such as online courses, tutorials, and certification programs, within data engineering, big data, or related fields.
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, tools, and methodologies, including Python.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, engaging prose.
Proven track record of creating high-quality, long-form technical content (e.g., certifications, ebooks, whitepapers, technical guides).
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with or knowledge of data orchestration tools and concepts.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

We are a distributed team with offices in San Francisco, New York, and Minneapolis. We have team members all over the U.S. and are hiring fully remote candidates. Every employee is provided a remote work stipend to cover the cost of home office equipment and anything else that makes your remote work location comfortable, productive, or successful. This is a full-time, competitively-paid position with benefits.
The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $125,000 - $170,000.
