Job Summary:
A-Lert Construction Services is hiring a stainless steel MIG welder to join the team in our Decatur, IL Shop. We are looking for an experienced welder to use MIG equipment to weld large pieces of stainless steel. You must be able to set up the equipment and clamp, grind, or bolt the materials into the proper position before welding. You will also inspect the final products for quality, so you should be able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings. Applicants must be able to pass an MIG weld test.
Primary Duties:
Set up welding equipmentWeld stainless steel according to blueprintsClamp, grind, tack-weld, or bolt components into position before weldingInspect final products for quality standardsTroubleshoot issues with welding equipmentMaintain a clean and safe work area
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificateCredentialed MIG welders preferredAt least one year MIG welding experiencePhysically must be able to : See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and work easily and skillfully with hands. Lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Stand for long periods. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach hard to get at work areas; and use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.
