Primary Purpose and GeneralResponsibilities:
The Senior IT/Desktop Support Specialist will be a member of the OVPRI IT team and install, management and oversee all endpoints (Windows, MAC, iOS, and Android devices) for the OVPRI and all supported divisions and areas. The incumbent will regularly evaluate endpoints for the OVPRI and ensure each adheres to the appropriate university security baselines and policies. The position will provide end user support of all endpoints as well as provide level 1 support of all audio-visual components in OVPRI conference rooms and VCU OnePrint devices
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of the latest versions of Windows and Apple desktop and mobile operating systemsKnowledge of enterprise level system applications, including mobile device management, systemspatching, and computer imaging toolsBasic knowledge of IT security principles and methodologiesBasic knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy deployment strategiesKnowledge using Google Workspace applications including, Gmail, Google, Drive, Smartsheet, and CalendarBasic knowledge of conference room A/V configuration including level 1 troubleshooting of computers, microphones, cameras, and softwareBasic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Adobe products on both Windows and Apple platformsProven leadership skills, a self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work in a diverse environment is requiredAbility to manage tasks on multiple concurrent projectsThe candidate should have demonstrated experience working inand fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitmentto do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline preferred3+ years experience with Windows and Apple desktop support and imaging technologiesExperience with an enterprise level endpoint security systems (SCCM, JAMF)Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy ManagementExperience with new machine provisioning and image deployment techniquesCompTIA A+, MCDST, or MCMDAA a plus
