Facility in Eastern Nebraska is looking for several traveling Med-Surg nurses. The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage.The shift will be twelve hours.13-26 Week Contacts.36-48 hour guarantees.Schedule Information

Shifts are 12 hours long.Day shift starts at 0630 and ends at 1900.Night shift starts at 1830 and ends at 0700.Self scheduling is an option but the facility will approve a limited amount of block scheduling.Every other weekend is required.2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years are required.Floating to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed is required.Unit Specific Information

# of Beds in the unit: 55.Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:5-6.Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele includes joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, and more.Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes and takes an assignment.Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: Yes, with ratios of 1:10-20.Tele/Monitor Techs: Present and interpret while RNs should maintain some tele awareness.Orientation period: 2 days of unit/department-specific orientation.Additional Details

ACLS Preferred, BLS.Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & South# of Beds: 55.Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6.Common diagnosis / Types of patients include joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive.RN's required to titrate drips: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps.Charge Nurse on each shift takes assignment: Yes.Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit with ratios of 1:10-20.Tele/Monitor Techs interpret while RNs should have some tele awareness.Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs: Navy Blue.Mechanical lifts in every other room.Focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness.Multiple discharges and admissions in one day.Successful nurses manage the busyness of the day, have good attendance, are team players, friendly, compassionate, and patient-first oriented.They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmese.Radius Rule: 50 miles, candidates may not be part of any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions.
