The CC&EL Technical Assistance team offers child care programmatic technical assistance service to the 28 Local Workforce Development Boards (Boards) on the Child Care Services program.This position supports the state's child care eligibility and case management system and ongoing CC&EL information technology data and system projects.
Initial schedule will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F with options available upon successful completion of probationary period (6 months). This position is based at 1117 Trinity St, Austin, Texas, but may be telework eligible. You will be required to attend some in-person meetings in Austin. Additional travel may be required.
You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Child Care IT Systems Support Specialist III position will perform highly complex (senior-level) computer systems support work. Work involves providing customer support for the agency's child care case management system. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:-Support the state's child care eligibility and case management system and ongoing CC&EL information technology data and system projects-Perform business analysis to assist customers with the new case management system-Serve as a liaison for Local Workforce Development Board staff, and other authorized users of the Child Care IT systems.-Provide customer support for the child care case management system, including the Parent Portal, Child Care Provider Portal, automated attendance, other system functionality. Troubleshoots and resolves complex IT-related issues and questions. Advises Users on the child care IT software, and on the efficient use of these technology systems.-Provide input in the development, maintenance, and enhancements of the Child Care data and systems.-Provide analysis and support as issues (problems and questions) are escalated by Child Care and Early Learning Division.-May assist in the preparation of automated operational manuals, standard operating procedures, forms, and training materials.-Document system defects and assists in tests of defects as well as all system enhancements prior to their release to ensure they function per document specification and requirements.-Perform related work as assigned. Special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned to meet the mission and goals of the department, division and the Texas Workforce Commission.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:- Practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations and computer software/hardware knowledge- Knowledge or experience in TWIST and/or other case management systems.- Experience in customer service delivery and responding to phone/email inquiries with accurate information in a user-friendly and understandable manner- Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:-Four years of full-time experience in data processing or in positions which provided thorough knowledge of computer equipment or software packages, or experience in systems analysis or computer programming.-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
