We’re seeking a
Director, Embedded Electronics
to lead the development of cutting-edge, ruggedized military ground vehicle electronics (vetronics) to support operations via air, land, or sea. The Tactical Systems Department delivers integrated sensing and computing solutions to provide mission-critical information to our users on the front lines. Our products have been deployed and proven across all seven continents in the harshest environments on the planet.
In this role, you will oversee the entire development lifecycle of power and data management LRUs, from initial concept through production deployment. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring successful integration of all technical aspects, including hardware, software, and systems engineering. Successful candidates will have a track record of managing complex projects at the system level, with a strong grasp of top-level requirements, industry standards, and the strategic planning needed to deliver effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership, Design & Development:
Lead and oversee the execution of vetronics programs focused on data and power management LRUs, ensuring successful delivery from design through production transition.
Guide program managers and systems engineers to meet program milestones, providing technical oversight and strategic direction across all phases of the product lifecycle.
Serve as a hands-on technical leader, driving systems integration, design reviews, and risk management, anticipating and addressing challenges proactively.
Support the design and development of complex electronic systems, leveraging expertise in FPGA-based design, mixed signal processing, power distribution, and programmable LRUs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Project and Strategic Support:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless sub-system integration and customer alignment during production transition.
Ensure compliance with military and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) and support quality assurance.
Develop strategies for program execution, resource management, and process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Actively support business development efforts by contributing to opportunity capture, proposal development, and technical presentations to customers.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in systems engineering or electronics design, with at least 8 years focused on vetronics, video systems, or power management LRUs.
Hands-on experience with systems-level design and integration of data and power management systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Strong experience with RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) for embedded systems, particularly in vetronics or ruggedized military applications.
People & Communication Skills:
Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with experience presenting to senior stakeholders, customers, and technical teams during program reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.
US Citizenship is required.
Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have an active Secret Security Clearance.
Nice To Haves:
Experience with SBIR programs and transitioning technologies from prototype to production.
Familiarity with military vehicle integration, qualification testing, and field support requirements.
Technical background in digital signal processing, real-time video encoding/decoding, or advanced power management systems.

$145,000-$205,000However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
