New Controller Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Controller to lead their financial and human resources functions. This role is ideal for an experienced financial professional who excels in financial planning, accounting, and HR management, ensuring compliance with industry standards while driving financial growth and stability. Key Responsibilities of the Controller:
Financial Oversight & Strategy:
- Direct all aspects of financial planning, treasury, budgeting, accounting, and forecasting.
- Advise senior management on economic strategies, corporate policies, and insurance requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with banks, lending institutions, and shareholders.
- Serve as a fiduciary for employee retirement plans, ensuring financial compliance and security.
Accounting and Reporting:
- Manage budgeting and financial reporting, offering clear insights into the company's financial stability and growth.
- Analyze income, expenses, and earnings to forecast future financial positioning.
- Oversee tax reporting, regulatory filings, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Human Resources & Compliance:
- Oversee HR activities including employee relations, policy implementation, and performance evaluations.
- Support recruitment and training efforts, guiding the organization's HR strategy as a key part of the Controller role.
- Promote company policy compliance, workplace safety, and a positive employee culture.
Operational & Financial Analysis:
- Lead cost accounting, financial analysis, and operational assessments to evaluate profitability and efficiency.
- Direct credit and collections, assessing customer credit-worthiness and managing collections to support cash flow.
- Determine depreciation rates for capital assets to optimize financial reporting.
Management & Supervision:
- Supervise a small team within the Finance Department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cost Accounting.
- Conduct performance evaluations and oversee training to develop a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting / finance roles.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA credentials are preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset.
