JOB SUMMARY
Provides complex database analytics and reporting services to clinicians and customers. Oversees data collection from multiple sources, examines data and creates metrics to drive clinical and operational performance improvement.Performs requirements definition, development, testing, research and ad-hoc reporting as requested.Manages both departmental and matrixed resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Provide data extraction services to evaluate patient-focused outcomes.Gather requirements from stakeholders (clinicians and business leaders) and within Analytics and Intelligence (A&I) Dept. to develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).Interpret complex data and associated deliverables (reports, dashboards, interactive reporting, charts, graphs and tables) in plain business language for executive and clinical staff.Effectively summarize information and create intuitive/digestible information by selecting visualizations that are fit for purpose.Participate in weekly A&I team meetings and other group activities of our analytics team so that development is in alignment with BSW analytics standards.Gather and document data requirements from customers for ad hoc reporting.Analyze and translate requirements into technical specifications, processes and workflows.May serve in a lead consultant role for all customer contact and resource management.To provide our physician leaders working in Quality Improvement with graphic representation (from Power BI) of certain identified metrics on a regular cadence (e.g., monthly), and be available for additional ad hoc questions and/or projects.Document project/work assignments to include all needed technical documentation such as source to target mappings, data sources, definitions, methodologies, contact information, output requirements or other information to ensure continuity of process.Develop statistical, economic and financial research from data to evaluate performance and drive relevant business or clinical initiatives.Examine data for trends, observations, improvements and makes recommendations.Provide training and mentoring to junior colleagues.KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, Business, Clinical or other similar degree or equivalent experience required.Master's degree preferred.Advanced data manipulation, troubleshooting and critical skills.Advanced development skills in the use of enterprise statistical and BI tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Cognos, Excel PowerPivot or SSRS.Advanced skills in the use of programming languages such as SQL, SAS, R, or STATA.Verbal and written communication skills.Ability to design, develop and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and examine data.Ability to gather and examine data, statistical data and develop reports.Ability to work exclusively and head cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.Knowledge of ETL & Data Warehousing.Ability to work with complex data of varying levels of quality and validity.Ability to develop data analytics and BI applications in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.Ability to learn new processes and to find opportunities to gain efficiencies in current environment.Healthcare background preferred.BENEFITS
