Job Summary

The Data Specialist for the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) Grant will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support the goals and objectives of the SIP grant and TRIO Education Opportunity Centers.

Job Duties:

The Data Specialist for the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) Grant will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support the goals and objectives of the SIP grant and TRIO Education Opportunity Centers. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations, maintaining accurate data systems, and providing insights to support institutional decision-making and student success initiatives.•Data Collection & Management:o Collect, compile, and maintain accurate data for the SIP grant and EOC grant, ensuring consistency and completeness.o Develop and maintain databases and systems for tracking key performance metrics and student outcomes.o Work with various campus departments to gather necessary data for reporting and assessment.•Data Analysis & Reporting:o Conduct data analysis to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and support the achievement of grant objectives.o Generate regular reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and federal grant reporting requirements (e.g., APRs).o Assist with the preparation of narratives and supporting documentation for grant compliance.•Compliance & Auditing:o Ensure data integrity and compliance with all Title III SIP grant requirements and institutional policies.o Support grant-related audits and evaluations by providing accurate data and documentation.•Collaboration & Communication:o Collaborate with institutional research, IT, and academic departments to align data management processes with institutional systems.o Communicate data findings to grant administrators, project directors, and senior leadership to support program planning and decision-making.o Provide training and support to staff on data-related tools and processes relevant to the SIP grant.•Research & Data-Driven Insights:o Conduct research using institutional or government data to explore best practices and innovative strategies for enhancing student success and retention.o Identify and assess relevant external research, benchmarks, and trends to inform program improvements.o Collaborate with faculty, institutional researchers, and external experts to develop data-informed approaches to address institutional challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in data management, analysis, and reporting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; possess excellent customer service, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience handling confidential information and possess a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and the ability to work independently or as a member of a highly functioning team. This position requires a high level of professionalism and initiative, as well as the ability to meet deadlines, to work under pressure, and to adjust to changing priorities.
