Your Main Responsibilities
Merit Manufacturing is seeking an Equipment Director to lead the setup, cleaning, and maintenance of our production equipment, specifically for manufacturing high-quality personal care products. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the operation, setup, and maintenance of all the machines that keep our business running. This role is hands-on, and while management-focused, we're looking for someone who is eager to work alongside their team, leading by example and supporting the operations each day.
We manufacture for personal care, so we're doing anywhere from 5-15 change overs each day in order to get product made for our customers. You need to be able to schedule out the time and make sure your people are ready when they're needed to keep production moving.• Lead, Manage, and Get Your Hands Dirty: You'll oversee a team of 3-5 equipment technicians, guiding them in setups, changeovers, and cleanouts while rolling up your own sleeves to dive into the action.• Master the Machines: From liquid fillers to automatic cappers, labelers, and induction sealers, you'll be the champion of our equipment, keeping it all in top-notch condition.• Preventative Maintenance Wizardry: Create and maintain a preventative maintenance plan so solid that downtime is almost non-existent. When issues do pop up, you'll be on the case fast, keeping production running smoothly.• Safety & Cleanliness Champion: Enforce cGMP standards like a pro, making sure that every procedure meets safety, cleanliness, and documentation requirements.• Troubleshoot Like a Boss: Your expertise in mechanics and electrical systems will make you the ultimate problem-solver. If something's broken, you're the hero that gets it back in action, fast.

Are you Qualified?• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance and management, ideally in personal care, cosmetics, or similar industries.• Strong understanding of liquid filling systems, automatic cappers, labelers, induction sealers, and other equipment used in manufacturing.• Knowledge of cGMP standards and the ability to uphold safety and cleanliness at all times.• Understanding of PLCs and technical machine programming is a plus!
