POSITION TITLE: Junior Buyer
REPORTS TO: Director of Supply Chain
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; additional education/training desired Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in Purchasing or related field, with relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain role Strong integrity - capable of upholding policies of confidentiality concerning department, vendor information and pricing Strong computer skill, with experience working with ERP systems preferred Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Detail oriented, self-motivated, able to anticipate work to be done, and able to work with minimum supervision and have strong follow up skills Must have problem solving capabilities and be able to contribute ideas to department Professional attitude and dress JOB SUMMARY :
Canyonside Labs is a contract manufacturer for nutraceuticals located in Twin Falls, Idaho. Within the facility are GMP areas where products are mixed, manufactured, or bottled that are intended for consumption. All employees are required to be mindful of cleanliness and sanitation.
A Junior Buyer at Canyonside Labs will be responsible for the transactional aspects of purchasing, including placing purchase orders for raw materials and packaging components from approved suppliers, communicating material delivery dates internally, following up with suppliers as needed, collecting supplier quality documents as needed and, in general, supporting the needs of the company supply chain. A general knowledge of raw material documentation is needed, along with an understanding of warehousing and production processes. A strong working knowledge of GMP regulatory requirements and technical manufacturing requirements is desired. This role also includes collaborating and assisting with the supply chain and warehouse teams in ensuring continuous supply flow. A Junior Buyer also assists with R&D and the product development team to provide test materials as needed. This role also includes ensuring that suppliers meet and/or exceed delivery dates and quantities as defined by any purchase orders or agreements.
DUTIES:
Order and coordinate delivery of raw materials and packaging components from suppliers Identify and recommend opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes Work with Director of Supply Chain to prepare reorder point, out-of-stock, and other analyses to facilitate cost and service improvements Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal team partners to ensure effective communication of strategic and tactical issues; serve as a liaison between supply chain and production team to ensure support of planned production schedule Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, i.e., price, availability and delivery Assist in determining best vendor for each item purchased based upon quality, availability, service, pricing and company policy Support the development of short- and long-term supply plans to balance the demand forecast with cost, efficiency, and capacity constraints; optimize the flow of product through the supply chain Requires broad understanding of MRP/ERP system to support operations by ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements Follow globally developed standard supply chain work processes and best practices Interact regularly with all departments of the company as required to identify, communicate, and help resolve accounting and operational issues Help maintain inventories ensuring that Company funds are used efficiently, and adequate inventory is maintained to prevent product outages Support new vendor setup and vendor adherence to company compliance programs and initiatives, including organic certifications, SDS certifications, testing, CofA's and other regulatory related documents Monitor and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Provide cross training opportunities and development training Meet and exceed KPI goals and implement ways to increase efficiency Other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain WORK LOCATION:
